German naval officers trained by Dutch navy according to the Dutch newspaper De Waarheid dated 22 October 1954

This newspaper published an item dated Amsterdam 22 October in which her reporter wrote that he was astonished when he read in the Het Nieuws van de Dag of the day before that officers of the future West German navy were to be trained by the Royal Netherlands Navy at the institutes in Amsterdam and Den Helder. He referred to the Second World War when he wrote that again German navy officers would be walking around in the Dutch capital city. The title of the item “Kriegsmarine officers to the Netherlands for ‘training’ was quite suggestive. This newspaper also referred to the tiding that Germans were busy with sweeping mines in the Dutch waters around Delfzijl.
