An item reported that according to official Dutch sources at New York the Netherlands probably would buy 45 ships in the USA . The negotiations between the American maritime commission responsible for the sale and a Dutch commission were still going on. The ships were to be investigated and valued for a sales price. For the total tonnage of 450,000 tons was an amount of 30,000,000 US dollars involved. At that moment were 27 Liberty and 10 Victory ships investigated. The Dutch government would by the transfer pay 25% of the sales price and finance the maximum remaining 75% with a mortgage to be paid in 20 years with an interest of 3,5%.
