Maltese galleys captured an Algerian privateer according to the Dutch magazine De Maandelyksche Nederlandsche Mercurius June 1766

From Genoa was a tiding from Trapani received that Maltese galleys brought in a Algerian chebecq armed with 10 guns and a crew of 159 men and which was captured after a battle of five hours off Favogiana. Of the Algerians were 40 included the reis or captain and the under reis killed and of the Maltese crews were six men killed and thirty wounded including one knight.
