Chile seizing Danish ships according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland dated 21 February 1941

An item reported that the Chielan president spoke with the press about the seizure of Danish ships by Chile. This seizure was justified by the national and international laws and the moral right. He pointed out that the Chilean shipping which was already problematic suffered by the war even more bringing his country in a life-threatening situation. Chile seized just enough ships as absolute necessary to secure the national stability he stated.
