Switzerland depended for her export too much on chartered Greek-flagged ships according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 5 November 1940

An item dated Zurich 4 November reported that the Department of transport in wartimes stated that new difficulties threatened Swiss export caused by using hired Greek flagged ships. Large delays in transport export products arose.

The edition dated 14 December referred to an item dated Zurich 13 December reporting that according to tidings received from London the Shipping board over there stated that the Swiss cabinet could not longer charter anymore Greek merchant ships. This was probably caused by increasing demands from British side.
