Switzerland still not buying transports according to the Dutch newspaper De Tijd: godsdienstig-staatkundig dagblad dated 15 March 1916

An item reported that Switzerland several times intended to buy a number of ships to transport goods from and to the USA. The parliament however seemed not to be willing in accepting this idea. The Dutch journalist saw another problem if the Swiss merchant navy was realized. How was she to be protected? So Switzerland needed to create also her own navy.
