Sea tidings from Batavia, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviasche koloniale courant dated 6 April 1810

The American ship Drom which arrived at Banjoewangie reported that the British China homeward bound fleet escorted by the 64-gun Arrow captain Clasters which was ready to depart Canton on 12 February was not allowed to depart by the Chinese government. This government demanded that a British officer was handed over accused of murdering a Chinese tailor. A recent arrived Chinese junk confirmed this tiding.
