Swedish naval precautions according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 10 February 1854

An item reported that according to the Royal order dated 17 January the harbour gun exercises in stead of using a ship of the line were to be executed with a smaller vessel armed with mortars and two brigs. The expeditions in Swedish or other waters nearby were to be done with the ships of the line Carl XIII and Prins Oscar, the frigate Eugenia and a squadron of gunboats and further more were four war steamboats to be fitted out for immediate service if necessary.
