The Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 11 July 1869published an item dated Rotterdam 10 July 1869 reporting that the same day at the shipyard of Jan Smit Fopzn in Slikkerveer with success the clipper frigate ship Noach III was built for Fop Smit Jr. at Rotterdam and with captain to be P. Wierikx. She was especially designed to be a fast sailor and to transport passengers.
