British brig ship Waterloo wrecked off Hoek van Holland according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 22 March 1832

An item reported that on 1 November 1831 off Hoek van Holland the British brig ship Waterloo captain H. Morrison stranded while underway from Leith to Rotterdam. The crew and passengers totally numbering 11 people were in danger but saved by the harbour master Gerrut Mus and his knecht Jan Van Zanten assisted by two British sailors using the pilot boat No. 1 of Maassluis. The British consul gifted the two Dutch men each five pound sterling.
