China building large number of landing crafts according to the Dutch newspaper Java-bode dated 13 June 1951

An item referred to the newspaper Sing Tao Jih Pao reported that the People’s Republic of China was building around 500 landing crafts were built at the large shipyard of Yulin on the island Hainan. The reporter wrote that for these crafts with a high cruise speed a Russian design was used and that they had to be completed within 3 months. It was suggested that they were to be used to attack the Nationalistic island Quemoy or Taiwan.
