Denmark intended to sell her navy according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 2 August 1930

An item dated Copenhagen 1 August reported that Denmark concluded that the possession of an own navy was useless. The cabinet decided to sell all her warships except for some fishery patrol vessels to guard the coasts and her fishing territories. Among the countries which were interested were China, Siam [Thailand} and Latvia. The Danish battleship was very cheap just 8.000.000 Danish crones while the building costs were 10 times as much. A Chinese agent seemed to be interested. The Dutch newspaper De Indische Courant dated 4 August confirmed this item.
