British navy added torpedo boats to her capital ships according to the Dutch newspaper Leeuwarder courant dated 10 March 1880

An item dated London 8 March reported that the First Lord of the Admiralty informed the House of Commons about the consequences of the navy budget. He asked for breech loading guns and the new building of three armoured and three non armoured cruisers. In the future was the intention to add to each 1st class warship a torpedo boat.
