Cuban rebels attacked Spanish gunboat Relampgao according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 12 February 1897

An item dated Singapore 12 February reported that the rebels on Cuba attacked the Spanish gunboat Relampago with torpedoes killing six men and wounding some others including her commanding officer.(1)
