An item reported that during gun exercises on board of the gunboat Bouncer at Sheerness a cartridge premature exploded causing the death of two men while six others were wounded.(1)

1. A steel built screw gunboat of 256 tons with as dimensions 87½ x 26 feet, armed with 1-10” muzzle loading gun, launched at the Pembroke Dock on 15 March 1881 and finally sold on 4 April 1905.
