None Dutch privateers fitted out against Naples according to the Dutch newspaperArnhemsche Courant dated 31 May 1842

According to reliable tidings from The Hague intended the Dutch cabinet not a hostile attitude against Naples or according to the common rumours to fit out privateers. In the Italian countries was the rumour spread that already three Sicilian merchant barks were captured by Dutch cruisers. This must be nonsense. According to other rumours were French and Austrian warships cruising in these waters to prevent hostilities. The Overijsselsche Courant dated 3 June published a small item dated Frankfurt 27 May according to which the Neapolitan cabinet was more reassured about the rumours that the Dutch government was to fit out privateers against Naples.
