American naval shipbuilding program according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 1 April 1954

An item reported that the according to rear admiral [B.E.] Manseau (1) deputy chief of the navy bureau for ships the Congress commission for the armed forced informed that the US navy intended to start the year with the building of a second nuclear submarine, a third 65.000 ton aircraft carrier and 28 smaller ships. Manseau also claimed that the first American nuclear submarine the Nautilus would be completed within very short time.
