Austrian auxiliary cruiser Baron Gautsch sunk according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch Nieuwsblad dated 29 September 1914

An item reported that the Austrian auxiliary cruiser Baron Gautsch sunk after striking a mine in the Adriatic.(1)

1. The website http://www.it.diving-shark.hr/wreck-diving/baron-gautsch-wreck-diving-position mentioned that she was a passenger ship owned by the Austrian Lloyd serving on the shipping line Dalmatia-Trieste and other harbours in the northern part of the Adriatic. The mine she struck was an Austrian mine causing her sinking within ten minutes off the island Brijuni. She was indeed in military service.
