An item reported that the British-Egyptian gunboats captured Jebel-Royan. The newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 4 September published an item dated London 3 September that according to a telegram from Sir Horatio Kitchener the gunboat commanded by captain Keppel destroyed all fortress on the left river bank and those on the island Tuti at the opposite side of Omdurman. All guns of the enemy were captured.
