Swedish gunboat Svenksund supporting merchant ships in ice fields according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad van het Noorden dated 27 January 1893

An item dated Gotenburg 22 January reported huge problems in the Kattegat with the ice floes. At some places was the ice 30 feet thick. The Swedish gunboat Svenksund supported several ships floating helpless in the ice fields.
