Dredger H.D. 10 for Dakar launched at the Dutch shipyard Conrad at Haarlem according to the Dutch newspaper Haarlem’s Dagblad Wednesday 19 April 1905

Built in 1905 at the NV Werf Conrad, Haarlem, Netherlands in 1905 for account of contractors J.&G. Hersent contractors for the harbour works of Dakar with yard number 314. Dimensions 42 (between perpendiculars0 x 9 x 3,7 (depth) metres. Capacity per hour 160 cubic metres with standard buckets with a capacity of 0,40 cubic metres.
Horsepower 300 ihp.

An item reported that the same morning with success the new dredger HD 10 destined for the harbour works at Dakar was launched.(1)

1. Her processor sunk in 1904. The evening edition of the newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 23 February 1905 reported that she left on 29 November 1904 IJmuiden towards Dakar and last sighted on 4 December 25 miles North North East of Ouessant and announced by Lloyds to be missing. The newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 29 December 1904 confirmed the missing. She was begin December by the yard delivered and departed on own power. The Nieuwe Tilburgsche Courant dated 28 December 1904 reported that crew numbered 18 men including one of Haarlem.
