East Germany founding sea police service according to the Dutch newspaper De locomotief dated 4 July 1950
An item dated Berlin 1 July referred to the West German press association DPA which reported that East Germany was founding a belt of naval bases along the Baltic coast. At the nationalized shipyards at Stralsund was the building started of around 100 400 ton motor torpedo boats which a maximum speed of 40 knots. The East German cabinet announced the creating of a so-called sea police service to protect the economic revival and the trade abroad.
