French bucket dredger Almirante Alves Barboea built at Dutch shipyard Gusto at Schiedam according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag dated 1 Oktober 1910

An item reported the departure a day earlier of the bucket dredger Almirante Alves Barboea from Gusto at Schiedam. She was built for French account and destined for the harbour works at Rio de Janeiro. The main dimensions were 38 x 7,55 x 3,05 (hold) metres. She was able to dredge to a depth of 16 metres with a capacity of 350 cubic metres each hour. The tug Noordzee of the Dutch firm L. Smit&Co. towed her to her destination.
