An item reported that the chairman of the Nuclear Commission of the US Congress senator Brien McMahon stated that the report of the navy dealing with the progress in designing a nuclear submarine was very instructive for the commission. The commission however was also very pleased with the report. The senator said to the press that the nuclear submarine was the principal precursor of the use of nuclear energy in peace time.
