Launched on 10 February 1917 at Hamilton as the PC.38. Renamed Sprey on 11 February 1925, sold in May 1938 to Ward, Grays. With a displacement of 613 long tons/623 tons and as dimensions 230 (between perpendiculars)-244½ (over all) x 23¾ x 7’11”. The 2 sets of steam turbines and 2 cylindrical boilers supplied 3.500 hp while driving a twin crew allowing a speed of 20 knots. Armament as designed 1-4”/10,2cm gun, 1-2pd/4cm quick firing anti aircraft guns and 2-14” torpedo tubes. Built as part of the P-class under the Emergency War Programme designed to replace destroyers in coastal operations.
