An item referred to the magazine Mittheilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens reporting that the torpedo depot ship Foudre was to be converted into a cruiser. In stead of the torpedo boats she was to take with her was she to be fitted out with 14cm quick firing guns. The torpedo boats already completed to serve with her were now to be used as fishery patrol vessels.
