Austria building large submarines according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 3 April 1915

An item reported that Austria was building at her shipyards submarines of the largest kind with as purpose a possible blockade of the Mediterranean.(1)

1. That year were the SM U-10, 11, 15, 16 and 17 of the U-10 class with a displacement of 127,51 (surfaced0-142,5o (submerged) tons launched. Perhaps the item referred to the at Pola [Pula, Croatia] between 1915-1917 built U-20 class of 173 (surfaced)-210 (submerged) tonnes. Succeeded by the U-27 class of 264 (surfaced)--301 (submerged) tons.
