French shipyards interested in building Polish merchant ships according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 22 May 1919

An item referred to the Figaro which asked for ending of the measurements taken during the First World War regulating the activities of the French private shipyards. Poland wanted to create a merchant marine with  Total tonnage of 210.000 tons. The building program consisted of 20-8.000 ton ships for the North and South America shipping lines, 10-3.000 tons for the lines with France and England and 10-2.000 ton ships for lines with Scandinavia. Poland intended to order a part of building of the wanted ships at French and British shipyards.
