German submarines arriving in France according to the Dutch newspaper Limburgsch dagblad dated 20 December 1918

An item dated Paris the 20th reported that again five German submarines included the Deutschland arrived at Cherbourg.(1)

1. Her builder at the shipyard Flensburger Schiffbay was ordered on 27 October 1915 by the German private shipping company Deutsche Ozean-Reederei. She was launched 27 March a year later as a cargo submarine and not for submarine purposes. however taken over by the Imperial navy on 19 February 1917 after making two merchant voyages was she converted into the U-155 and fitted out with 6 bow torpedo tubes and 2-15cm deck guns. Surrendered on 24 November 1918 as result of the armistice was she later brought to England there sold in 1921 to be broken up at Robert Smitsh and Sons, Birkenhead.
