Italian battleship building according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 3

An item reported that the by the Italian proposed project for building a 35.000 ton battleship was not approved by the parliament due to the too large dimensions. The new plans spoke of 30.000 ton ships of which three were to be laid down at the same time/ Thickness of the armour was to be 34cm and the speed 25 miles. Their main armament consisted of 3x3-38,1 cm guns, one turret fore and two turrets aft.(1)

1. Probably the Caracciolo-class battleships of four ships namely the Francesco Caracciolo, Christoforo Colombo, Marcantonio Colonna and the Francesco Morosini of which the latter three were launched in 1915. Their dispalcement was 31.400 normal)-34.000 (full load) tons.
