An item reported that a day earlier at the navy yard at Trieste the Italian 640 ton submarine Galatea was launched. In the past months were several submarines of this kind built by the same yard.(1)

1. Conway’s All the World’s Fighting Ships 1922-1946 mentioned that she was launched on 5 October at CRDA, Montfalcone and that she was finally stricken 1 February 1948. She was part of the Sirena-class with a displacement of 680 (surfaced)-837 (submerged) tons. The other submarines which the item referred too were the Sirena launched on 26 January, Naiade on 27 March and the Nereide on 25 May while the Ondina was launched on 2 December.
