Japanese submarine no. 6 sunk according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 21 May 1910

An item reported the loss of a Japanese submarine some time ago off Kure.(1) She was now salvaged. On the body of her commanding officer was a document found in which he described what happened during the disaster. He praised the courage of his crew asking the emperor to help their relatives. The newspaper Nieuwe Tilburgsche Courant dated 22 March 1924 referred to the above document of nearly 1.000 words written by captain Tsoetomo who stopped with writing at 10:40 when he hardly could breath anymore caused by gasoline damps.

1. This is probably the Kaigun-Holland class no. 6 launched on 28 September 1905 at the shipyard of Kawasaki,Kobe and built under supervision of Holland and sunk on 15 April in the Hiroshima Bay, Kure caused by a flooding crew/ Although salvaged the next day was her complete crew of 16 men killed.
