Russian concrete shipbuilding considered according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1912-1913 no. 8

An item reported that in Russian the building of concrete ships was considered just like the French ship built at St. Rafaël. Because sand and cement were no lacking was this shipbuilding probably quite cheap and the ships were fire proof. This latter advantage was interesting while yearly ships were lost on the Volga due to fire. Concrete ships were especially suitable for the naphtha transport.
