Turkey interested in new building cruisers in the USA according to the Dutch magazine magazine Marineblad dated 1900-1901 no. 8

An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht that rear admiral Ahmen Pacha agreed with the shipyards Cramp at Philadelphia and Union Iron Works at San Francisco for building a cruiser with a length of 100 metres and a horsepower of 12.000 ihp allowing a speed of 22 miles. The rear admiral was now returning towards Turkey to request his cabinet to order at each yard such a cruiser.
