USA building large number of submarine chasers according to the Dutch newspaper De Tribune dated 4 June 1917

An item referred to the Philadelphia Record while reporting that at the American shipsyards a complete fleet of submarine chasers was being built and within two months were 500 of this vessels for patrol services on the Atlantic Ocean available. The US government ordered 266 boats with a length of 110’and fitted out with 3x220 hp engines while another 200 were paid bu patriotic citizens.
