An item referred to the American newspaper New York Tribune reporting that despite an earlier statement of U.S. secretary minister Bryan the delivery of submarines to England was continued.(1) The contracts with the Bethlehem Steel Corporation were originally dealing with the delivery of complete submarines. The department for foreign affaires stated that however this was a violation of the US neutrality. As a compromise were the submarines sent in parts to Montreal and there assembled and sent to England.
