Note
1. The Dutch newspaper De Tribune dated 13 March published an item reporting that the Dutch steam fishing vessel Mercurius of Vlaardingen picked up at sea a floating German submarine and towed it to IJmuiden. Just for IJmuiden broke the towing-line and was she lost. The tug Katwijk managed to fasten a new towing-line and towed her into IJmuiden. She was completely stripped of engines and inventory and lying high on the water surface and was berthed in the Binnenhaven (inner harbour) waiting for further instructions. It was believed that she was lost at open sea while towed from Germany to England.
