Mutiny on board of Russian steamship Arconia according to the Dutch newspaper De Sumatra Post dated 23 December 1905

An item referred to the newspaper Straits Times of Singapore reporting the arrival at Singapore on the 17th of the Russian Arconia coming from Odessa. During the voyage mutinied her crew. The Russian consulate stated that her crew mostly consisting of Danes was unsatisfied with the quality of the food although an other explanation was the crew mutinied while an officer beat one of them and that they threatened to kill her captain. At Singapore succeeded the Russian consul joined by the police to restore the calmness and she could continue her voyage.
