Egyptian steam tug Damiette built in the Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 4 December 1858

An item reported that in the harbour of Nieuwe Diep [Den Helder] was lying the steamship Damiette built at the shipyard of Van Vlissingen for account of the vice roi of Egyptian. She was fitted out to be used as tug and as troop transport on the Nile. The journalist praised the quality of her construction.
