Italy experimenting with submarine salvage lighters according to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf dated 1 July 1939

An item dated Pola 30 June reported that the same day during experiments with a keel lighter of the Pollio design it was succeeded to salvage a medium size submarine from a depth of 35 metres.
