An item reported that the brand new Norwegian 30.000 tons super tanker Inger Knudsen just delivered by the shipyard was to be laid at Haugesund lacking orders for her. That same year were already two Norwegian tankers laid up although these were quite aged being 22 and 30 years old.(1)

Shipping AS, Haugesund, Norway. With a gross tonnage 19.456 tons and a summer deadweight 31.856 was this crude oil tanker when completed one of the largest in the world. Became later the Sturla Due (renamed June 1992 Sturla), IMO 516201, callsign J8GL8 and Saint Vincent&Grenadines-flagged.
