Japan demanding minimum tonnage of submarines in advance of naval treaty according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 12 February 1930

An item dated London the 11th reported that according to a senior Japanese official Japan demanded a minimum tonnage of 78.000 tons for submarines.(1)

Note
1. He was referring to the Naval Treaty of London signed on 22 April and ratified on 27 October 1930 to limit naval shipbuilding and regulate the submarine warfare. The involved countries were England, USA, Italy, France and Japan.
