Soviet Union buying merchant ships in England and Germany according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Tilburgsche Courant dated 28 March 1933

An item reported that the Russian merchant marine bought during the last months 23 freighters with a total tonnage of 130.000 tons in England and Germany. Among these ships were steam ships, motor ships and turbine ships. The most of these ships were to be used for the timber trade. Already were some serving on regular shipping lines.
