Built at the Dutch shipyard N.V. Scheepswerf en Machinefabriek De Merwede, Hardinxveld for account of Finska Angfartyg A/B, Helsingfors, Finland in 1949. Dimensions 326’5” x 46’7” x 28’3” and a measurement of 400 ton. Her single Sulzer Winterthur 7DSD53 engine supplied 3.500 hp at 160 rpm allowing a speed of 14,5 knots. The Dutch newspaper
De Locomotief dated 28 April 1949 reported that she was the first ship built as result of the trade treaty between the Netherlands and Finland. Another Dutch newspaper
Het Vrije Volk dated 13 September 1949 reported her launching on 12 May and her departure on Friday 16 September. After she left the shipyard was she to berth at a firm at Bolnes for another two weeks to complete her machinery. At the end of the month was she to go to Rotterdam.
