French banana carrier Fort Richepanse 1949-1968, Maronia 1968-1972, Golfo Deglo Angeli 1972-1985

Her two 8SD60 Sulzer engines manufactured bythe shipyard supplied 8.000 hp at 150 rpm allowing a speed of 17 knots. Dimensions 375’ x 52’3” x 29’3½” and a gross register tonnage of 5.232 tons. Commissioned in October 1949 in service of Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, Paris, France. Built by Alex. Stephen and Sons, Glasgow, Scotland. In 1968 sold to the Plate Shipping Company of Piraeus and renamed Maronia. Four years later again sold and renamed Golfo Degli Angeli owned by the Cia. Sarda di Nav. Marittima S.A. Broken up in 1985 at La Spezzia was she by her latest owner rebuilt as a ro-ro cargo ship.
