The French dredger la Puissance according to the Dutch magazine De ingenieur dated 11 August 1900

An item reported the launching of the self loading dredger la Puissance for account of the Suez Canal Company at the shipyard of William Simons&Company Limited, Renfrew, England. Main dimensions 275x 47x 19 (hold). Bun capacity 2.200 tons dredged material. The capacity of the buckets was 30 cubic feet. The dredging capacity was to be 1.800 ton each hour with a maximum working depth. The dredger was divided into 13 watertight compartments. Five ballast holds were available to stabilize the ship. Two steam engines allowed a speed of 9 knots.
