Paris, 8 November. The Canary Islands were in stress caused by a large amount of Colombian privateers. They visited Spanish ships and landed several times, setting housed into fire taken with them people and cattle. Relations between the islands and the Colombian republic were discovered and it was feared that the latter was preparing to take the islands actually over.
