According to a tiding Paris 29 September was since many years in Dunkirk again a whaler fitted out. The owner M.K. Dagneau was allowed by the king to give the ship his name. Whaling had been very important for Dunkirk where in 1790 for instance 34 whalers were fitted out but was since then disappeared.
