Dutch cabinet interested in converting merchant ships into auxiliary cruisers according to the Dutch newspaper De Indische courant dated 9 December 1936

An item reported that although the Dutch cabinet thought decrees dealing with the easy converting of merchant ships into auxiliary cruisers were a necessity she did not want to regulate this by laws. She thought that contracts with the shipping companies with which were already relations for years was a better solution.
