Movements of the Algerian privateers in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 22 August 1827

Paris, 18 August. Tidings from Marseille dated 10 August didn’t supply new news. The blockade by the French navy of Algeria wasn’t quite successful. The privateers were able to enter or depart the harbours without any difficulty. There were several privateers of Oran and other towns active in the Strait and the Mediterranean. Each 10th and 25th day of the month were merchant ships conveyed to the Strait and each 30rd day of the month into the Levant and towards the Archipelago.
